When you find yourself needing to make visual and audio effects in-camera for a class project, your brain spits out this. Or maybe that’s just me. The video is an independent project and was shot, edited, and produced by me.
Impossibility: Female Consent in a Heterosexual Context (2021)
This piece combines the understanding of the material form, projection mapping, and video/sound editing. The first step to realizing my vision was to make a plush pillow of a woman’s vulva and vaginal canal. The finished plush is approximately 3’x2’ in size. I then mapped the projection onto the plush. The content of the video stems from personal experience of a betrayal of trust and a recent conversation about female power compared to the male presence and a continuing environment of abuse and fear. All footage is found footage and was compiled and edited by me. The sound comes from both the original video files and freesounds.org.
Retro (2022)
There is absolutely no direction to this particular film. We were required to film an entire roll of film on a Bolex film camera, and my class project partner, Star, and I decided that we would film whatever seemed interesting at the moment. None of the original footage has been altered and remains exactly how it was when it was developed. The sound design was done independently and was mostly based on instinct and associations that began to form in my brain.
Ending (2022)
The original assignment was to make a one-shot film wherein the camera is not turned off, and the footage is not edited. The final version is the second take. I hope to add sound in the future, but as of now, it is a work in progress.
City Life (2022)
This piece is somewhat of a collage. Most of the footage was a spontaneous decision. I consider it more of a bit of fun.
